For over 21 years, Wealth Design has been advising successful executives, entrepreneurs and their families. Under the leadership of Gene Ka, Wealth Design crafts long-term, individualized partnerships with our clients. We adopt a holistic approach to wealth management, providing a range of financial and wealth management services that evolve with our clients’ needs… and lives.

Our services are simply fee-based: We do not sell financial products for a commission. Our guiding philosophy is that there should be no inherent conflict of interest or hidden compensation in the objective advice we provide. We seek to create a safe place for our clients to discuss their goals and to always avoid conflict of interests that invariably arise with a commission-based approach.

As a Registered Investment Adviser practice, we utilize powerful and sophisticated tools, technology and independent, as well as research. Consequently, our clients benefit from having an advisor with the same credentials they can find at larger companies; yet because we are independent, we can respond to our clients’ needs promptly and with personal attention.

Gene Ka, CPWA®

Gene has more than 27 years of experience in, and extensive knowledge of, financial planning, asset management and estate planning. Gene was a Senior Financial Advisor with American Express Financial Advisors from 1990 to 1996. He left American Express to form Ka, Demmler & Associates, an independent financial advisory firm in Campbell, California. In the spring of 2000, Ka, Demmler & Associates became Wealth Design, LLC.

Gene’s approach to client services stems from his background in hospitality. He cares about helping people, asks thought-provoking questions, and is a great listener. A detailed strategist and a tireless implementer, Gene is a strong advocate for complete transparency when working with Wealth Design’s clients.

Gene is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® and has extensive experience in the wealth management content, strategies, and applied concepts that help better serve high-net-worth clients. Gene attended Purdue University and is a proud member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Gene lives in Silver Creek with his wife, one of his three daughters, and his mother. Gene’s middle daughter attends Pepperdine University, and his eldest daughter attends NYU Law School.

Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®)
The CPWA® designation signifies that an individual has met initial and on-going experience, ethical, education, and examination requirements for the professional designation, which is centered on private wealth management topics and strategies for high-net-worth clients. The designation is administered through Investment Management Consultants Association (“IMCA”). Prerequisites for the CPWA® designation are a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or one of the following designations or licenses: CIMA®, CIMC®, CFA®, CFP®, ChFC®, or CPA license; have an acceptable regulatory history as evidenced by FINRA Form U-4 or other regulatory requirements and five years of professional client-centered experience in financial services or a related industry. CPWA® designees have completed a rigorous educational process that includes self-study requirements, an in-class education component, and successful completion of a comprehensive examination. CPWA® designees are required to adhere to IMCA’s Code of Professional Responsibility and Rules and Guidelines for Use of the Marks. CPWA® designees must report 40 hours of continuing education credits, including two ethics hours, every 2 years to maintain the certification.
